A NEW HOME FOR GEORGETOWN'S MCDONOUGH SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
A new home for the McDonough School will enable the school to excel in every way -- in the quality of its teaching, research, student services, career placement activities, and connections to international business -- and to solidify its position as one of the world's leading business schools.
The $82.5 million privately funded 179,000 square foot building is scheduled to open in the spring of 2008.
Facility Highlights:
The new building will provide seminar classrooms to house an innovative new introductory International Business Seminar for first-year students.
To alleviate overcrowding, improve undergraduate classrooms and allow for expansion of the school's graduate and executive programs, the building will include more tiered classrooms as well as increased career management and student services facilities.
A lecture classroom will be specifically tailored to accommodate accounting classrooms.
More faculty offices will make room for additional faculty needed to reduce student-faculty ratios in the business school. At the same time, space vacated by McDonough School faculty will make room for Georgetown College and SFS faculty on the main campus.
To provide an educational atmosphere comparable to its peer and competitor schools, the new building will include more common space for students to study independently and meet for small-group projects.
