BRANDING YOUR ORGANIZATION

Branding Your Organization

Competition to hire Georgetown MBA students is intense. The most successful organizations develop a plan to raise their visibility and reach out to students early and regularly.

To brand your organization, we urge you to take advantage of one or more of the many opportunities for involvement outlined below. They will help identify you as a company that is interested in top talent. Our staff is available to consult with you and help customize your plan.

Careers Xtravaganza (CX) -- This annual all-day event is the official kick-off for MBA recruiting and is the first opportunity of the season to brand your company. Georgetown's top employers and our MBA students attend each year. Past CX events presented students with panel discussions by executives in a variety of business disciplines such as marketing, finance, consulting and emerging markets. Executives highlighted their companies, their job functions and career options and paths for MBAs.  Business school faculty participation merges the business with the academic world.

CareerQuest -- Career Quest is the largest MBA career fair in the Mid-Atlantic region, and is sponsored by the following top area MBA programs: The University of Maryland, American University, Georgetown University, George Washington University, George Mason University, Howard University, John Hopkins University, Wake Forest University

Conferences & Consortia -- Georgetown students have some of the best attendance rates among MBA programs at national and regional conferences.

Corporate Treks -- These are three-to five-day trips that bring students to your offices. Groups ranging in size from 12-100 have visited New York, San Francisco, London, Hong Kong,  Boston, Japan, Miami, and Washington, DC in the past.

Functional Days -- This is an excellent opportunity to highlight your organization as a leader in your industry. Functional Days bring together student organizations, executives, alumni and faculty for the exploration and discussion of careers in a featured functional area or industry.

Alumni Practice Interviews (APIs) -- During the year, Georgetown alumni at your firm help current students practice behavioral and case interview skills. Conducted individually or as part of practice days, APIs are a great way to get former Georgetown students involved in the recruiting process.

Socials -- Georgetown is famous for its social events, such as Global Diversity Day, Ultimate 4, Non-Profit Auction, Monday morning coffee and Thursday evening socials.

Corporate Affiliates Program -- For maximum exposure among Georgetown MBA students, participation in the Corporate Affiliates program is critical. Throughout the year, corporate affiliates have elite access to top students through campus events, faculty meetings, speaking engagements and other sponsorship opportunities. For more information, click here or call (202) 687-3741 or email Employer-Relations@msb.edu.

Student Organizations -- Working with student organizations gives you direct contact with potential hires. Student organizations allow companies to introduce career opportunities through corporate speaker programs, career education sessions, and outside consulting projects. Contact the organizations directly to find out more (see infomation below).

Sponsorship of these activities gives you visibility across the entire school.
