Testimonials

The new Certificate Program in International Business Management undertaken between Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) has more than fulfilled OPIC’s goal of providing a valuable and worthwhile educational experience for our workforce. The program’s courses were structured to serve as an invaluable framework for presenting the most up-to-date information about the global market place. The faculty excelled in both their understanding of current trends in international finance, global strategy, and in their ability to present the material in an interesting and effective manner. Because of OPIC’s partnership with Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, participants in this program will think and act more creatively as leaders and, decisively, will help build a business culture of innovation and success. Peter Watson, President and CEO of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation

For more than a century, Rolls-Royce has worked to be "trusted to deliver excellence" around the world. Today our commitment to this brand promise is even stronger. Delivering on this promise requires leadership, and this year Rolls-Royce North America chose the McDonough School of Business for our Leadership Residency Program. As a global company, we wanted a strong international perspective, cross-cultural awareness and the very latest in leadership and management philosophy and practices. McDonough provided all this and more. - James Guyette, President & CEO, Rolls-Royce North America Inc.

As is the case with much of the Federal Government, the Risk Management Agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture is experiencing the need to replace retiring leaders with a new leadership base. The 15 participants who attended the Georgetown program benefited tremendously and, without exception, rated the program as excellent. The program surpassed all our expectations. The professors were drawn from many varied levels of business and academe to fit our particular educational needs – they were exceptional. - Josephine L. Firmani, Leadership Development Program Coordinator, Office of the Administrator, Risk Management Agency, U.S. Department of Agriculture

When I was tasked with the development of a leadership and management program I immediately thought of the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. I was looking for an academic partner with a proven track record in developing customized leadership and management programs for a corporate setting. Although we did open the RFP to other academic institutions and consulting practices, the McDonough School was hands down the most responsive to our particular needs and the most flexible in tailoring the leadership and management program to our specific requirements. The design of the leadership and management program and especially the execution of the program have greatly exceeded my expectations. We are receiving a cutting-edge, leadership and management program, with the look and feel of an executive MBA program. I have received nothing but outstanding feedback from the participants in the program about the quality of the program and from their supervisors in terms of what the participants bring back from the program to the work environment. - Michael Carriger, Training and Development Manager, Thales Communications

Georgetown worked closely with Nextel to create a leadership program that was engaging, energizing and had lasting impact on our senior executives. The faculty were enthusiastic and engaged partners who provided a highly effective learning experience. The program has positively impacted business results and instilled an ongoing collaborative exchange between program participants. Projects included in the program, assigned by our senior management, were focused on real-time issues and helped participants develop and implement some of the analytic, diagnostic, and practical skills they learned in the program. We were particularly impressed with Georgetown's partnering approach and flexibility in developing a curriculum targeted to achieve mutually agreed upon ROI objectives. Their client team invested the time necessary to acquire an in-depth knowledge of our organization and culture, performance goals, critical issues, and strategy. - Jim Caprara, Vice President, HRD, Nextel University, Nextel Communications

At Kimberly-Clark, we regard the week-long program with Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business as the best educational program we sponsor and are extremely proud to be affiliated with such a respected institution as Georgetown University. The program, the Georgetown Healthcare Leadership Institute, focuses on strategic planning, marketing, negotiation and conflict management, finance, leadership, ethical and legal issues. Working with Georgetown has been a wonderful experience … the reputation that we have acquired makes the Institute highly respected and feedback that it is the best course that they have ever attended is not uncommon. - Sandy Buhler, Manager, Professional Relations, Kimberly-Clark Corporation

Georgetown’s MSB faculty organized and presented an outstanding program on performance measurement to the senior executives of the Export-Import Bank of the US.   The program combined succinct overviews of current theory, valuable principles of design, relevant case studies and readings, and organization-specific group exercises. Well-organized, engaging, and in command of the material the faculty provided the group with the knowledge and tools to progress from defining the mission, through developing the measures, to managing the execution. Michael Cushing, Senior Vice President for Resource Management, Export-Import Bank of the United States

In 2003, Commercial Radio Australia, the industry association representing all commercial radio stations across Australia, ran the McDonough School of Business' Executive Development Program for Radio Broadcasters. This was the first time that this excellent and internationally renowned course had been offered in Australia to Australian radio executives. Participants overwhelmingly rated the Program and the Georgetown Professors who presented as first class with relevant content, a practical approach and an engaging interactive teaching style. All participants said it was the best professional development course they had attended and would undoubtedly help them to better manage their radio stations and networks. The Georgetown Program also provided participants with a strong foundation upon which to develop their individual talent back in their own marketplaces. - Joan Warner, CEO, Commercial Radio Australia Ltd
