In addition to custom programs for organizations, Georgetown McDonough offers a select number of executive certificates courses for individuals.

Certificate courses are for business and government executives looking to sharpen their skills and advance their careers. Individual participants deepen their knowledge of advanced theories for real-world challenges to achieve measurable results while learning alongside peers from diverse backgrounds and organizations. All courses are taught on Georgetown’s campus by faculty members who craft curricula to help executives achieve their ever-evolving career goals.

Situated in the heart of the U.S. capital and global community of Washington, D.C., Georgetown offers executives an experience and breadth of exposure like no other. Courses are geared toward practical applications, allowing executives to demonstrate results immediately and expand their range of business acumen or address specific goals and objectives within their organization.

In addition to courses delivered on the Georgetown campus in Washington, D.C., we partner with Spain’s ESADE Business School for the D.C. module of the Global Advanced Management Program.

Registration and Cancellation Policies

Registration for executive certificate programs is subject to acceptance by the Georgetown McDonough Office of Executive Education and is dependent upon available space. The Office of Executive Education monitors the balance of industries, regions, functions, and experience in each program in order to optimize the learning experience for participants, particularly for certificate programs geared toward specific industries or levels of professional experience.  

All programs will be delivered in English, unless otherwise stated; therefore, participants must be able to comprehend and converse in English.

Fees and Payments
Fees are due upon acceptance into the program. We accept credit cards (VISA or MasterCard only), wire transfers, and checks made payable to “Georgetown University” with the name of the program written on the memo line. Program fees must be paid in full prior to the program start date. Program fees cover tuition, program materials, lunches, and breaks.
Pricing Structure and Group Registration

●    Single registrant - published price

●    Georgetown University alumni - 20% fee reduction

●    NGO, government, or organization with multiple participants to the same class - 10% fee reduction

Program discounts cannot be combined for one participant.

Cancellation, Transfer, and Substitution Policies
All requests for cancellations, transfers, and substitutions must be submitted in writing. Submit your request via email to with the name of the program followed by 'Cancellation,’ 'Transfer,' or 'Substitution' in the subject line. Or mail to:

The policies for such requests are as follows:
Cancellation Policy before start date of program:

●    More than 30 days notice – $150 administration fee

●    15 to 30 days notice – 50% refund

●    14 days for fewer – 25% refund

Transfer Policy before start date of program:

●    More than 30 days notice – $150 administration fee

●    15 to 30 days notice – $150 administration fee

●    14 days for fewer – $500 administration fee

Substitution Policy before start date of program:

●    More than 30 days notice – $150 administration fee

●    15 to 30 days notice – $150 administration fee

●    14 days for fewer – $150 administration fee

One transfer per registrant is allowed to an alternative offering within 12 months.
Substitutions are subject to available time participants are able to prepare for the program.
A transfer or substitution request followed by a subsequent cancellation will be subject to the above application cancellation fees.
Cancellation of Certificate Programs
All courses are offered contingent upon sufficient enrollment. If a course must be cancelled, all students will be notified at least 30 calendar days before the course's start date. All students will receive a 100% tuition refund. Unfortunately, Georgetown University is unable to reimburse for any travel or accommodation expenses.
