Take on the World with Georgetown:

The Global Business Initiative (GBI) seeks to distinguish the McDonough School of Business as the premier destination for global business education by partnering with other schools, organizations, and companies in Washington, D.C., and around the world.

As a leader in global business education through our Global Business Experience, Georgetown McDonough seeks to provide all students the opportunity to travel abroad to consult either within an industry or with specific Fortune 500 companies. The program is required of all graduate students and is an elective for undergraduates.

  • A Welcome from Ricardo Ernst, Ph.D., Professor of Operations:

Known around the world for its emphasis on international business, Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business created the Global Business Initiative (GBI) to ensure the school’s global mission is evident throughout all aspects of the student experience — from the undergraduate to the MBA to the Executive Education programs.

  • The Student Experience:

The Global Business Experience provides Georgetown McDonough students an opportunity to obtain a better understanding of the local culture by attending cultural events and visiting different locations in the host city. It also is a unique opportunity for students to build relationships with their classmates. (Students' photo album - 2013).

Furthermore, Georgetown University’s value of service to others is woven throughout all aspects of the Georgetown McDonough MBA program, as our students also have the opportunity to visit local organizations and support the community through donations, fundraising, and service events.
