In addition to coursework, Georgetown University’s MBA Full-Time Program prepares students for professional achievement in a global marketplace by providing a number of academic enrichment opportunities.
International Business Diplomacy Certificate
Offered by Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, this program gives students the opportunity to pursue an honors certificate in International Business Diplomacy as part of their Georgetown MBA Full-Time curriculum.
Selection criteria include academic performance, a desire to pursue the certificate, an economics background, foreign language proficiency, international experience, and an interest in a transnational career.
Students may apply for enrollment in the introductory International Business Diplomacy gateway course through the Student Services Office. The application process must be complete by early October of the first year for enrollment in the spring gateway course.
Students who complete the International Business Diplomacy gateway course with a grade of A- or better may be invited to pursue the certificate. Selection to the program is highly competitive and is based upon academic performance and space availability. Students must use their Georgetown MBA Full-Time Program electives to fulfill course requirements for the International Business Diplomacy Certificate.

Graduate School Electives
Approved electives offered at Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service and Public Policy Institute are open to students interested in international affairs, government, or public policy. Examples include International Business Diplomacy, International Trade, Social Policy Process, the Non-Profit Sector, Economics of Latin America, Banking and Finance in Developing Countries, Eastern European Economics, Multinational Corporations, Foreign Exchange Markets, International Relations Theory, Latin American Governments and Policy, and Export Competitiveness.
Consortium Electives
Georgetown students are eligible to take approved courses at other universities that are members of the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area and that maintain current AACSB accreditation. This includes American University, George Mason University, George Washington University, Howard University, and University of Maryland at College Park.
