Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business’ signature global experiences enrich MBA Evening Program students’ learning with immersive, team-centered work. These experiences empower students to more fully understand how business is conducted around the world.
Structure of Global Industries
As a primer to the entire Georgetown MBA Evening Program experience, students begin the first year with a highly integrated course on the Structure of Global Industries. In this experiential learning course, students examine their understanding of global industries through the economic, political, and cultural factors that influence these arrangements. The opening term also covers ethical decision making, includes a basic accounting course, and establishes student cohorts.
Global Business Experience
The degree culminates in the Global Business Experience – an application of everything students have learned in their coursework and careers. Teams of students work with faculty members and senior management at multinational organizations to define their projects, solve a pressing business problem, and travel to the clients’ facilities to present their recommendations.
In recent years teams have traveled to Brazil, China, the Czech Republic, India, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, and Vietnam and worked for clients ranging from 3M and Philips Electronics to the World Bank and Yahoo!. These professional-level consulting projects build upon students’ experiences, talents, connections, and careers.
