7-PHASE CAREER DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
We take a strategic approach to your candidacy for promotion or job change and support you with a 7-Phase Career Development Strategy. This system takes you from the early assessment of your career options through negotiation of final offers.
3 CAREER COURSES
We've designed three MBA-specific courses that take these strategic concepts into practical frameworks and products. The modular format delivers concentrated content efficiently. Multiple schedules create convenience. Choose a course that meets your need:
- Job Search
- Executive Presence
5-STAGE CAREER COACHING
The 7 phases of the career development cycle collapse neatly into the 5 stages of career coaching, which provide 1-on-1 support for your individual needs. At each stage, your designated career coach will complement your preparation with his or her expertise to maximize your candidacy strategy.
INDUSTRY AND CORPORATE FUNCTIONS SUPPORT FOR MBA CAREERS
The MBA Career Center Team and Student Organizations work in a 14-industry alignment to cultivate industry-specific career development opportunities. Across industries, we also support career tracks that are function-focused in the corporate centers. Get ahead by exploring these MBA Career options.
JOB SEARCH TEAMS
The MBA Career Center offers this proven approach to successful job placement. In small group settings, job seekers strategize through group interaction on their job search campaigns. Teams meet once a week, and members report on their productivity, brainstorm, share ideas, and develop action items for the following week. For each team that is formed, a Career Coach from the MBA Career Center and a Peer Mentor will be assigned to facilitate.
Throughout the year, you'll have access to a variety of employer and alumni networking events:
- Professional Development Series: Offered in a Friday-evening social format, this series provides access to national career experts and the opportunity to expand your network with other Washington, DC professionals.
- Global Career Conference & Expo: This annual MBA Career Center Expo brings together MBA candidates from top-tier programs (who are international as well as U.S. students seeking global opportunities) and exceptional global organizations seeking to hire MBA talent.
- Employer Hosted Events: These events connect top MBA employers with our current students in a variety of formats including, Information Sessions, Workshops, Networking receptions and more.
For students with no obligations to current employers, the MBA Career Center facilitates recruiting activities for an impressive portfolio of companies.
