Enrollment in the Master of Science in Finance Program is an investment of time, energy, and resources. As you enter the program, it is important to identify how you would like to utilize your new knowledge to leverage career opportunities.
An Investment In Your Future
Students choose an MSF for many reasons. Some seek to use the degree for a promotion within their current company, to pivot to a new role in a different workstream with their current employer, switch industries into a finance-related role, or utilize the knowledge to enhance their current work. Whatever your reason for seeking a graduate degree in finance, understanding how to effectively leverage your new degree and the skills and knowledge that comes with it takes time and planning.
Celebrating the Success of Graduates
Members of the MSF Class of 2015 (our first group of graduates in this program) have seen tremendous success utilizing their degree for career advancement. In a survey of graduates, more than 80 percent of respondents changed jobs between the time of admission and the time of graduation. The average salary also increased significantly between the time of admission and just after graduation. These impressive statistics are a testament to the reputation of our graduates as leaders within business and industry.
A Powerful Brand - Georgetown and the McDonough School of Business
While there are demonstrated career gains that have come in the short-term for our graduates, our alumni are also beginning to see the long-term value of an MSF Degree from Georgetown University. The Georgetown “Hoya” brand is well-known and well-connected both nationally and internationally. Opportunities for networking, collaboration, and career progression will come over time and will only increase with additional work experience, accomplishments, and leadership experience.
