  • McDonough Students Take Part in Sophomore Service Project

    For the second year in a row, Georgetown McDonough students participated in the Sophomore Service Project, an alternative spring break during which students complete a week of service. This year 11 Georgetown students spent their Spring Break in Philadelphia, Pa., tutoring and mentoring students at the Cristo Rey High School. Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School serves the greater Philadelphia area by providing a private-school education to students who come from low-income families.

  • Abengoa Senior Leaders Complete Residential Module

    The Office of Executive Education recently delivered a four-day residency for 42 Abengoa employees participating in the Program Director Development Academy (PDDA) Program. This was the fourth year of McDonough Executive Education's relationship with Abengoa, and the team worked in partnership with the Universidad LOYOLA Andalucía in this new program, which incorporates online and residential learning modules to ensure a diversity of attendees.

  • Georgetown Center for Business and Public Policy Launches Project to Explore 21st Century Tech and Communications Policy

    The Georgetown University Center for Business and Public Policy (CBPP) today announced the launch of a new project to explore the policy challenges and opportunities raised by the rapid pace of innovation in digital and communications technologies. The new Evolution of Regulation and Innovation Project will focus on the intersection of regulation and innovation with an eye toward identifying policy changes that may improve economic outcomes for consumers and the larger economy.

  • New MBA Course Focuses on Developing Women Leaders

    Beginning this March, MBA students at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business will have the opportunity to look toward the future and consider their own advancement in the job market through a new course titled Developing Women Leaders: Cultivating your Human and Social Capital. Professor Catherine Tinsley, who has been instrumental in building the Georgetown University Women’s Leadership Initiative (GUWLI), will teach this six week course of her own creation.

  • Dean Thomas Honored as Minority Business Leader

    In front of some 400 people at the Washington, D.C., Ritz-Carlton, David A. Thomas, dean of Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, was honored as a 2014 Minority Business Leader of the Year by the Washington Business Journal. Georgetown alumnus Ted Leonsis nominated Thomas for the award.

  • Undergrads Place 1st at Venture Capital Investment Competition

    Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business’ undergraduate team placed first at the annual national undergraduate Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC) at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.  Members of the Georgetown team were Tammy Cho (B '16), Evan Zimmet (B'17), Darius Babel (B'14), Shilpa Chandran (B '15), and Carlos Salgado (B '14).

  • U.S. News Ranks MBA Evening Program #1 in Region, #11 in Nation; Full-time MBA #23

    The Full-time MBA program at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business advanced two places – from 25 to 23 – in this year’s U.S. News & World Report ranking of graduate business programs. The MBA Evening Program also continues to be ranked 1st in the Washington, D.C., region and 11th in the country among part-time programs.

    Georgetown McDonough also was listed 12th for schools known for international business.
