Washington, D.C. - The March issue of Hispanic Business ranks the top 10 M.B.A. programs for Hispanics. The McDonough's School's M.B.A. program ranks at #9 this year, up one place from last year.
Hispanic Business ranked programs in five categories, and assigned ratings on the basis of the total scores. Enrollment measured the number of Hispanic M.B.A. students currently enrolled and the percentage of Hispanic students in the overall school enrollment. Hispanic faculty representation was measured by the percentage of full-time Hispanic faculty among total full-time faculty. Student services averaged three factors-the number of special programs that recruit Hispanic students in each school, the number of mentorship programs available to Hispanic students, and the number of Hispanic student support organizations active on campus. Retention rate was based on the number of first-year Hispanic students who returned for their second year divided by the number of first-year Hispanic students, as reported by each institution. Program reputation was assessed on the basis of the U.S. News and World Report ranking of their programs in the Best Graduate Schools, 2002 Edition.
"The robust population of Hispanics at Georgetown is evidence that the culture here is supportive," says Dean Christopher Puto. "It is an expanding circle - the stronger the Hispanic presence, the more attractive we become to Hispanics."
