  • Sweatshop Labor is Wrong (Unless the Shoes are Cute)

    Nike did it. Apple has done it. In both instances, consumers protested reports of unethical labor practices that would be illegal in the United States.

    But despite the implied demand for ‘sweatshop-free’ products, these items are not overcrowding store shelves. Baffled by this economic imbalance, Georgetown University McDonough School of Business Assistant Professor Neeru Paharia investigated consumer reasoning and decision-making processes behind purchasing items made from sweatshop labor.

  • Business Librarian Receives Research Grant

    Jennifer Boettcher, Georgetown University business librarian, has been selected to receive the 2013 Reference and User Services Association BRASS Emerald Research Grant Award.

    The Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS) of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) administers the $5,000 grant, which supports research in the field of business librarianship, and Emerald Group Publishing, Ltd., funds the award.

  • Financial Times Ranks Executive Custom Programs #11 in the U.S., #34 in the World

    In its inaugural ranking by the Financial Times, the Executive Education Customized Programs at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business ranked #11 in the United States and #34 in the world.

    The ranking measures clients’ perceptions of the quality and delivery of the program, as well as the internationality of the overall program through a survey of each business school.

  • Five Georgetown Interns Join Bono’s ONE and (RED) Campaigns

    The Georgetown McDonough Global Social Enterprise Initiative (GSEI) announced that five Georgetown students are joining U2 lead singer Bono’s ONE and (RED) campaigns as interns this summer. The opportunities were established through GSEI’s relationship with Bank of America, a founding partner in the initiative, and were created with the organizations after hosting Bono on campus in November.

    in partnership with the Financial Times hosted a conference on the potential
