Maya Angelou Addresses Global Executive MBA Graduates
Maya Angelou, the acclaimed poet, novelist, educator, actress, filmmaker and civil rights activist, spoke to graduating Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) students at a Saturday afternoon ceremony.
The ceremony also was attended by her son, Guy Johnson, and her grandson, Colin Johnson – one of the graduates. Angelou’s original name was Marguerite Johnson.
Angelou told stories about her experiences and told the graduates how much they were appreciated.

Evening MBA Students Clear Trash from Rock Creek Park
On July 7, 11 MBA Evening Program students from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business braved the 100-plus degree heat to volunteer with the Rock Creek Conservancy to clean up Rock Creek Park.
After filling 15 large trash bags to the brim with items ranging from tires to plastic bags to bottles and cans, the students continued to pile up trash to be cleared away later by the park rangers.
