Undergrad Business Students Win $2,000 for Campus Business Proposal
Washington, D.C. - Four sophomores in Georgetown's McDonough School of Business won top prize in the "New Ventures - the Georgetown Way" entrepreneurship competition for their proposed campus cleaning service. Called GUNK - Georgetown University No-nonsense Kleaning - the business, if actually created, would become a "custom-tailored, full service, student-run, cleaning organization" for the campus.

Fortune Magazine "50 Best Business Schools for Getting Hired"
Fortune magazine online has just published the 50 Best Business Schools for Getting Hired 2007." Georgetown placed 16th on the list, with an average starting post-MBA salary of $87,816, and an average of two job offers per student.

Georgetown Business Professor Recognized by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
Washington, D.C. - Georgetown University McDonough School of Business Professor Ricardo Ernst was recently named an Outstanding American by Choice by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Ernst was one of four award recipients recognized in a ceremony with USCIS Director Emilio Gonzalez at a White House ceremony on Wednesday January 24, 2007.

Washington, D.C. - Confirming the stature of the McDonough School as one of the premier business schools in the world, Financial Times announced today that Georgetown's MBA program is now ranked #3 in the world in international business.

New Building Update: Live Feed available to Watch Progress
Construction of the new home for the McDonough School of Business is on schedule for completion by Fall 2008, with move-in in early 2009. The construction is well into the excavation phase, with the foundation soon to be installed.

Revenge is a Factor in the Workplace, Georgetown Professor Tells Business Week Readers
Washington, D.C. - "[There's a] hypocrisy of revenge in the corporate world," Professor Robert J. Bies told Business Week in its recent cover story on workplace revenge. "We say it doesn't exist, but it does." Bies has been interested in the topic since 1996, when he co-authored a seminal academic paper on revenge in organizations.

Washington, D.C. - In recent remarks to Wall Street Journal columnist Ron Alsop, George Daly, dean of the McDonough School of Business, addressed the nationwide shortage of business faculty.
