  • Professors Honored with Research Awards

    McDonough School of Business Assistant Professor Chris Long recently received the Best Applied Paper award at the International Association of Management and Business Conference. The paper is titled, “Investigating the Information Processing Capacities of Organizational Controls: A Computational Modeling Perspective.” His research on “Establishing Channels to Cooperation: How Managers Combine their Efforts to Apply Control and Demonstrate Their Trustworthiness” also was a finalist in the Best Overall Paper category.

  • Michael Pavey Named 2014 McGowan Fellow

    The William G. McGowan Charitable Fund has announced the 10 recipients of its 2014 fellowship awards. Michael James Pavey, a second-year MBA student, was selected from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. The fellowships recognize second-year MBA students who show outstanding leadership ability, as well as strong dedication to ethics and community service. They also must be in the top 10 percent of their class.

  • MBA Students Advise Immigrant-owned Business Project BUILD

    Six MBA students from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business wrote business plans for immigrant-owned businesses as a part of a community development effort through a local Project BUILD program. This Small Business Assistance project was sponsored by the D.C. Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (OAIPA).  The second-year MBAs who participated in the program include: Manu Agrawal, Yung-Lun-Ho, Szu Po Hsieh, Saurabh Jha, Eunjin Ji, and Rapeepan Kulkanchanachewin.

    A group of marketing research undergraduates recently toured the Verizon Center with Adjunct Professor David Ashley. The students heard presentations from Monumental Sports and Entertainment’s leadership about marketing analytics. Speakers included Joe DuPriest, vice president of marketing; Alex Kerr, research-survey processes and actionable insights; Jim Minichiello, CRM sales tracking, segmentation, profile/insights development; and Tom Nagle, company-wide analytics and data centralization efforts.
