  • Professor James Angel Testifies Before U.S. Senate Committee

    James Angel, Associate Professor in the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, recently testified before the U.S. Senate Committee for Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs regarding three legislative discussion drafts to control excessive speculation in the commodity markets. Committee Chairman Joe Lieberman, ID-Conn., and Ranking Member, Susan Collins, R-Me., heard the testimony.

    Three proposals were put forth and are meant to bring relief to consumers.

  • Center for Business and Public Policy Hosts Panel on Climate Change and International Trade

    On February 12, the McDonough School's Center for Business and Public Policy hosted an expert roundtable titled "U.S. Climate Change Policy and International Trade Policy Intersections: Issues Needing Innovation for a Rapidly Expanding Agenda." The event - part of the Center's Business, Economics and Policy Seminar Series - brought together climate change and trade policy experts from throughout the Washington community.

  • MSB Launches Alumni Mentorship Program for Undergraduates

    The Undergraduate Dean's Office at the McDonough School of Business recently teamed up with Georgetown's chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi, the honors business fraternity, to launch the Young Alumni Mentor Program. The new program is designed to help MSB undergraduates prepare for life after Georgetown by connecting them with successful young alumni.

  • MSB Climbs in Financial Times Rankings, International Business and Corporate Strategy Rated in Top 10 Worldwide

    Financial Times' recent survey of the world's top full-time MBA programs ranked Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business number 19 among U.S. schools, up from 20 last year. The ranking is the school's highest in this annual survey, and it marks McDonough's continued rise in business school rankings over the past three years.

    "We are very pleased with our MBA program's continued climb in the rankings," said McDonough School Dean George Daly. "This recognition affirms that we are moving in the right direction."

  • George R. Houston, B '61, Former Professor, John Carroll Medal Winner, and Former University CFO

    George R. Houston, B '61, a former McDonough School of Business professor, CFO of the University, and member of the Board of Advisors at the Business School has passed away. Professor Houston was an important contributor and leader in the early development of Georgetown's business school and his impact is still felt in the MSB community.

    The Sixth Annual Georgetown MBA Women in Business Forum was held Friday, January 11, 2008 at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business.   • Georgetown and ESADE partner to create new global Executive Management Program

    Georgetown University and ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain, have partnered to create a new executive management program. Known as the Georgetown-ESADE Global Executive MBA, the program will be offered by Georgetown's McDonough School of Business and Walsh School of Foreign Service with ESADE Business School. It will be delivered in six 11-day modules on four continents, and is designed to meet the needs of accomplished executives whose scope of work is global.
