  • Undergraduate Program Ranks 10th for Accounting

    According to an annual survey by Tax Talent, the Georgetown McDonough Undergraduate Program placed 10th among accounting programs in the United States. The ranking is based on a survey of heads of corporate in-house tax departments conducted by the tax career management company.

  • Georgetown McDonough Hosts Inaugural Trans-Pacific Partnership Conference

    On March 20, the Undergraduate Program Office, the McDonough Global Student Association, and Georgetown's Latin American Board co-sponsored the inaugural Trans-Pacific Partnership Conference. We welcomed nearly 100 students and faculty to engage in sessions and panels geared toward understanding the trade practices, growth, and economies of the Asia-Pacific region.

  • EML Opens Program with Lessons from the Past

    At the start of March, the Executive Master's in Leadership Program welcomed its 10th cohort for an opening residency at the Gettysburg Battlefields in Pennsylvania. Twenty-four students representing the government, non-profit, entrepreneurship, and financial services industries met to discuss Answering the Call: Strategy, Mobilization, Execution – and the Aftermath. The new class was welcomed by McDonough faculty members Catherine Tinsley, and Luc Wathieu, who also is the school's deputy dean.

  • Global Confectionery Industry Leaders Sweet on Advice from Undergraduates

    As part of a pilot program to provide undergraduate students with global business experience, a new elective course at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business recently took a group of 20 students to Barcelona, Spain, to meet with global confectionery industry leaders and make recommendations on the future of the industry for four international companies.

  • Rosetta Stone CEO to Speak with Students, April 3

    Rosetta Stone President and CEO Stephen Swad will speak with students at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business Thursday, April 3, as part of the Stanton Distinguished Leaders Series.

    The event, which also is sponsored by the Undergraduate Program Office, will take place in the Hariri Building Fisher Colloquium from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Norean Sharpe, senior associate dean and director of the undergraduate program, will guide the conversation with Swad. RSVP for the event.

  • McDonough Students Take Part in Sophomore Service Project

    For the second year in a row, Georgetown McDonough students participated in the Sophomore Service Project, an alternative spring break during which students complete a week of service. This year 11 Georgetown students spent their Spring Break in Philadelphia, Pa., tutoring and mentoring students at the Cristo Rey High School. Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School serves the greater Philadelphia area by providing a private-school education to students who come from low-income families.

  • Abengoa Senior Leaders Complete Residential Module

    The Office of Executive Education recently delivered a four-day residency for 42 Abengoa employees participating in the Program Director Development Academy (PDDA) Program. This was the fourth year of McDonough Executive Education's relationship with Abengoa, and the team worked in partnership with the Universidad LOYOLA Andalucía in this new program, which incorporates online and residential learning modules to ensure a diversity of attendees.
