Brenkert Earns Lifetime Achievement Award for Service to Business Ethics

George Brenkert, who recently retired from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business as a professor of business ethics, earned the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Business Ethics in recognition of a “Career of Outstanding Service to the Field of Business Ethics.”

The society presented the award to Brenkert during its 34th Annual Meeting 9-11, 2013. The Society for Business Ethics is an international organization providing a forum for those interested in research, teaching, or the practical application of ethical principles and concepts to the management of businesses.

During his career, Brenkert published in numerous books and journals including: A Companion to Business Ethics; Trust Within and Between Organizations; Consumption; Environmental Ethics and Business Ethics Perspectives; Business and the Humanities; Women's Studies and Business Ethics; Business Ethics Quarterly; the Journal of Business Ethics, Public Policy & Marketing, and the Journal of Business Venturing. In addition, he has published Marketing Ethics (Blackwell) and co-edited the Oxford Handbook of Business Ethics.

Brenhert also has presented papers at meetings of the International Association of Business and Society, the Society for Business Ethics, the Social Philosophy Conference, and the Adam Smith Society. He is a member of the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics, the Society for Business Ethics, the American Philosophical Association, and the International Association for Business and Society.
