Journal of Finance Awards David McLean the Amundi Smith Breeden First Prize

David McLean, associate professor of finance and Anderson Faculty Fellow at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business, has been awarded the annual Amundi Smith Breeden First Prize for his research article, “Does Academic Research Destroy Stock Return Predictability?” The article, which was co-authored by Jeffrey Pontiff, professor and James F. Cleary Chair of Finance at Boston College, appeared in the February 2016 issue of the Journal of Finance.

The journals’ associate editors selected the top three papers published in the first five issues of 2016 and in the December issue of 2015. Papers on corporate finance were not eligible for consideration.

The prize for the best paper in the Journal of Finance is $25,000, which is funded by Amundi Smith Breeden LLC.
