MBA Programs Advance in U.S. News Ranking

Georgetown McDonough’s MBA programs have advanced in the latest ranking by U.S. News & World Report. The Full-time MBA program is up two positions to 22nd, and the MBA Evening Program is up one place to 12th. The school also ranks 15th for international programs.

“The Georgetown MBA has gained tremendous momentum in our efforts toward excellence in all we do, and that is reflected by both the caliber of our students and their career successes,” said Prashant Malavyia, senior associate dean for MBA programs. “Whether our students study full time or part time, Georgetown offers our MBAs a global perspective, distinguished by our location in the nation’s capital that educates aspiring business leaders from across the globe to be successful in business and contribute to society.”

For the Full-time MBA, U.S. News considers assessments by other business school deans and employers, as well as admissions and employment data for 2015. This year, Georgetown McDonough saw a jump in its recruiter assessment score, from a 3.5 to a 3.8, in addition to significant advancements in the average salary, and continued our steady upward trend in the percentage of students who are employed at graduation, GMAT score and undergraduate GPA of incoming students.

U.S. News gathers a different set of criteria for its part-time MBA rankings: assessments by other business school deans; average GMAT score, undergraduate GPA, and work experience; and the percentage of the entire MBA student body that is enrolled part time. Georgetown’s position in the ranking is a reflection of its strong recruitment of students and its dedication to offering the same curriculum and services to both full-time and part-time students. This year, the MBA Evening Program had the seventh-highest average GMAT score in the country among part-time programs.
