Novelli Discusses Six Trends of Partnerships

William Novelli, Georgetown McDonough School of Business distinguished professor of the practice and founder of the school’s Global Social Enterprise Initiative, addressed the Points of Light Corporate Service Council’s Social Capital Conference on Feb. 26. He discussed six trends taking shape in partnerships, including increased complexity, increased involvement by corporate employees, and the continued importance of strong leadership.

“The world is changing rapidly, and managing social change is far better than having it manage us,” he said. “The opportunity to create business value though creating social value is a powerful force for companies today. Increasingly, it will require the commitment and skills of participating in cross-sector collectives for good.”

The Corporate Service Council (CSC) is a global platform for advancing corporate volunteerism. Since its inception in 2005, the CSC has convened an elite group of companies to leverage the power of corporate volunteerism to create change in our communities. CSC members include more than 75 of the world’s largest and most successful companies.
