William Novelli Joins American Cancer Society Board of Directors

Georgetown McDonough Distinguished Professor of the Practice and Global Social Enterprise Initiative founder William D. Novelli was elected to the 2017 American Cancer Society Board of Directors. Along with the other 20 members of the board, Novelli will assist in establishing policy, overseeing general operations, determining long-term goals, and approving the allocation of resources. Novelli will serve a two-year term.

Novelli currently teaches in the MBA program at Georgetown McDonough and leads the school’s Global Social Enterprise Initiative, which he created in 2011. He also serves as the co-chair of C-TAC, an organization dedicated to ensuring those with advanced illnesses in the United States receive quality care. Previously, Novelli served as CEO of AARP and president of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, where he now serves as chairman of the board. Novelli also has served as executive vice president of CARE, the world’s largest international relief and development organization.
