Thank you, President DeGioia, Dean Daly, members of the faculty, graduating class. As I come up here, I am reminded by my daughter and my son who typically like to kid with their friends that I look like Harry Potter, and I certainly don't look here a lot like a banker, but as I was putting this garb on, and just walking up here, it really gave me that impression again, and it reminded me that Harry Potter has a lot of tricks down his bag and I don't, so I'll try my best.
Undergraduate students received their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degrees in McDonough Arena May 16.
The celebratory mood was high among the graduates of Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business at their commencements May 15 and 16. On Friday, May 15, 345 graduate students received Master of Business Administration degrees on Healy Lawn. The next day, 324 seniors received Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degrees in McDonough Arena.
Washington, D.C. -- George G. Daly, dean of Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, announced 13 new full-time faculty appointments today. These professors will begin teaching at the school in August.
"I am pleased we can add so many outstanding faculty to our roster," said Daly. "This is the largest influx of such scholars during my time at the school. These appointments also coincide with the opening of our new building this fall, which will enhance learning and interaction between our students and faculty."

Graduating seniors and faculty were recognized for their outstanding achievements in academics, community service, teaching, and research at the 52nd Tropaia Exercises at the Georgetown McDonough School of Business on May 15. Deputy Dean Ricardo Ernst presided over the ceremony, which was held at historic Gaston Hall.

Ana Palacio, senior executive vice president, foreign relations, and member of the AREVA executive committee, and Inter-American Development Bank President Luis Alberto Moreno will serve as commencement speakers for Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business. Palacio will address graduates of the school's MBA program on May 15 and Moreno will address the undergraduates on May 16.

"Meg" VanDeWeghe as professor of the practice in finance. She previously held an academic appointment at the University of Maryland.

Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business Professor George Brenkert hosted Ernst & Young Ethics and Compliance Officer Jeffrey T. Hoops on April 20. Brenkert, who holds a PhD in philosophy, teaches a class on Business Strategy which is currently focusing on ethics.
