    Six Georgetown McDonough undergraduates are organizing a university-wide bra drive for the Free the Girls Project as part of their Ethics Project. The Free the Girls organization helps women in Africa, who have been liberated from sex trafficking, restart their lives by running their own businesses selling used bras.

    The Center for Business and Public Policy at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business will present “Europe/U.S. Trade Deal: Promise and Reality,” with a panel of stakeholders and analysts from the AFL-CIO, American Farm Bureau Association, and the European Center for Political Economy assessing the agreement’s promise of a more productive transatlantic relationship that resolves embedded commercial issues, transcends decades of mutual distrust, and creates a new solidarity of purpose.

  • GEMBA Alumnus Explores Opportunities in Africa

    Shaun Gause, a 2011 graduate of the Georgetown-ESADE Global Executive MBA Program, recently served on a panel at ESADE Business School in Spain to inspire students to consider working in Africa. Gause is chief executive and co-founder of Global Group Inc., an international development, trade, and consulting firm that delivers solutions that help governments, businesses, and communities. The company established a presence in Sierra Leone as it prepares to embark on a major development project involving its core competencies in healthcare, food production, and energy.

    In its annual listing of the Best Graduate Schools, U.S. News & World Report ranked the Georgetown McDonough MBA Evening Program 11th in the country. The Full-time MBA Program also was ranked 25th overall and 12th for international business.

  • McDonough Partners With Fabretto in Nicaragua for Student Internships

    Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business has started a new partnership with the Fabretto Children’s Foundation, a Nicaraguan non-profit organization that provides assistance for those children most in need in Central America. To inaugurate this partnership, two undergraduate students will be awarded $2,500 stipends to become Fabretto Fellows for Summer 2013. Fellows will travel and stay in Nicaragua for five to six weeks and participate in developing Fabretto’s strategic plan, carry out cost-benefit analysis, and help in research and product ideas.
