Georgetown McDonough Hosts U.S.-China Presidential Inauguration Ball
Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business hosted the U.S.-China Presidential Inauguration Ball on January 19th at its Fisher Colloquium. Dean David Thomas delivered the opening remarks at the event. More than 300 attendees participated in the ball, which celebrated the beginning of a new era in U.S.-China bilateral relations. Guests included government officials, business owners, academics, young professionals, and students.

On January 17, 2013, Tom Ford International Chairman and former Gucci CEO Domenico De Sole drew on his experience and knowledge of the retail industry to inspire students to focus on leadership and human resources as the way to success.
“Don’t be afraid to hire people better, smarter than you,” said De Sole. “Hire them, listen to them, and let them do their jobs.”
The McDonough Retail & Luxury Association (MRLA) sponsored the event with the Undergraduate Program Office with support from the Distinguished Leaders Series. -

DC Schools, Georgetown Offer Executive Leadership Program to Principals
Georgetown University and District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) Chancellor Kaya Henderson (F’92, G’07) will announce today that 25 principals in the city will soon begin a tailored version of Georgetown’s Executive Master’s in Leadership (EML) program.
Henderson, who graduated from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business’ EML program in 2007, has emerged as one of the District’s most important leaders, charged with the education of 45,000 children in the nation’s capital. -

Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business has been ranked #28 among the Top 100 Most Social Media Friendly MBA Schools 2013 by OnlineMBAPage.com (OMP). Staff at OMP spent weeks analyzing data from the social media accounts of more than 400 campus-based business schools and ranked them based on their presence and activity levels on various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Pinterest, and Flickr.
