    MBA Student Named a Finalist for Women in Technology Leadership Award

    Rachelle Palmer, an MBA Evening Program student at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business, recently was named as a finalist for the Women in Technology Leadership Awards. A senior specialist in Deloitte’s Technology division, Palmer is among the top five women in the “Rising Star” class. The awards banquet will be held on May 19, 2011, at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner.

    Georgetown MBA students recently traveled to San Francisco and the Silicon Valley for the annual MBA Cal Trek. Organized by Georgetown’s MBA California Business Consortium, the three-day event gathered 24 Georgetown MBA students plus one MBA student from the ESADE Business School in Spain to visit UBS, Hewlett Packard, Google, Corporate Executive Board, Maxim Integrated Products, IBM, and Pacific Gas & Electric.

  • Unconventional Internship Helps MBA Student Build Mentorship Skills

    Last spring, Carlos Silveti Camargo, a second-year MBA student at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business, was looking for an internship for the upcoming summer. Already having a strong background in finance, he felt he had learned enough technical skills. Instead, he wanted something different than a typical office experience. An international student from Mexico, Camargo was looking to develop his English public speaking abilities and wanted to enhance his leadership and mentoring skills, so he went outside the typical internship channels.
