One of the things that makes the Marketing Area at the McDonough School of Business unique is that our faculty research practically relevant issues in which the consumer is the unit of analysis. Regardless of their specific methodological orientation (e.g., experimental, modeling) or core discipline (e.g., psychology, economics, statistics), our marketing faculty focus on consumer-level issues. This common interest facilitates engaging discussions and collaborations among faculty.
The McDonough School of Business is committed to and promotes a strong research culture. We seek applicants who are dedicated to publishing their research in A-level journals, teaching excellence, and contributing to the future growth of the school. Necessary support for doing such research and for professional development will be provided. For this particular position, we have a preference for applicants who engage in modeling research and who are ready for MBA teaching. After more than 20 years of distinguished service, Professor Johny Johansson will retire from this position in Spring of 2013. The School seeks applications from candidates with an exceptional research and teaching record in any area of International Business. The McCrane-Shaker Chair may be located in any of the School’s six areas: Accounting, Finance, Operations and Information Management, Marketing, Management, and Strategy, Economics, Ethics, and Public Policy. The appointee is expected to play a strong leadership role in the intellectual life of the School, including maintaining an active high quality research agenda and mentoring junior faculty. Appointment will be at the rank of Full Professor.
