Georgetown University McDonough School of Business MBA students enjoyed a red carpet welcome for their annual black-tie spring event, held at the St. Regis of Washington, D.C., on April 5. Some 450 Full-time and Evening MBA students and their guests attended the Spring Ball, a perennial favorite where students unwind before the last few weeks of the Spring semester. In the spirit of Georgetown's continuing commitment to service and community, the evening involved more than just great dancing and making lasting memories. Attendees also bid on items in a silent auction to support their classmates who are pursuing nonprofit internships. Items donated for bidding came from both students and faculty, and ranged from French and Spanish lessons provided by international students to several opportunities to dine with professors, among many others. The St. Regis also donated an overnight hotel stay the auction. By the end of the evening, the students raised more than $6,000 to help support students who have accepted unpaid, non-profit internships over the coming summer.
