The McDonough School of Business Academic Council (MSBAC) is the official representation of the McDonough undergraduate student body to the dean’s office and faculty. This student group is made up of 12 representatives (three from each class). MSBAC strives to strengthen student relations with the faculty and administration and promote a positive interaction. The group hosts events annually including the Welcome Back BBQ, Holiday Party, and Senior Sendoff. In addition, the MSBAC partners with various local organizations for community service opportunities. Each election nominee must attend an information session at the beginning of the fall semester.

The Compass Fellowship, supported by the Kenneth Cole Foundation, is a global family of young social innovators supported by peer and professional mentors. The Compass Fellowship is a one-year program that identifies the most passionate first-year undergraduates at schools around the country, inspires them to start a social venture, and empowers them to solve the world's greatest problems with socially-conscious business.
The Financial Management Association (FMA) is the undergraduate finance club at Georgetown McDonough. Many of FMA's activities are designed to help students learn more about the financial services industry and to prepare them for bank recruiting. FMA’s ultimate goal is to help students succeed in the finance industry. FMA's activities include resume workshops, interview skills workshops, sessions with recruiters from various banks, mock interviews, and trips to New York. There is an FMA National Honor Society for juniors and seniors who meet certain academic requirements.

The Georgetown Accounting Society encourages scholarship among its members, provides an opportunity to explore career options in accounting and meet accounting professionals, provides mentoring of students seeking an accounting degree, and develops a professional attitude toward accounting. Membership in the society is open to academically qualified students.

The McDonough-Hilltop Business Strategy Challenge (MHBSC) is a nonprofit case consulting competition organized by Hilltop Consultants and primarily sponsored by the McDonough School of Business. The Business Strategy Challenge seeks to bring together teams from undergraduate universities from all around the world. Teams engage in a weekend-long competition during which they come up with unique and sustainable solutions to the client's problems, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
The OPIM Majors Group was formed in 2003 to support and connect OPIM majors and alumni. In pursuing that goal, the group has aided in the placement of members at prestigious, cutting-edge firms. OPIM majors have gone on to work at Facebook, Palantir, and many major banks and consulting firms. In fact, the founder of LivingSocial, a massive e-commerce company, was an OPIM major during his time as a student at Georgetown. Each year, the OPIM Majors Group sponsors an alumni panel in the fall, a majors panel in the spring, and the senior OPIM lunch, attended by graduating OPIM majors and OPIM faculty. This year, the group is organizing site visits to firms in the D.C. area such as Palantir, iStrategyLabs, PwC, and more, in order to best serve the OPIM community.

The Georgetown University Undergraduate Marketing Association is composed of a group of students dedicated to acting as a liaison between students and the marketing industry. This organization is for students of all majors who are interested in a career in marketing and learning more about what that means. We work with the career center and with our own resources to bring more opportunities to you, including distinguished speaker events, job postings, student internship panels and resume workshops, and alumni panels in various capacities in the marketing field.
StartupHoyas is an organization that inspires innovation and fosters student involvement in the entrepreneurial programs at Georgetown. It is comprised of two parts. StartupHoyas Club connects students from all four undergraduate schools to the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative, while the Hoya Challenge brings entrepreneurially minded students together by fostering the creation of businesses through involvement in competitions and by providing educational resources.
Georgetown Aspiring Minority Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs (GAMBLE) provides minority undergraduates with a holistic approach to career planning and employment opportunities. The ultimate goal is to broker a conversation about diversity and inclusion both on campus and in the workplace. GAMBLE supports this vision by helping minority scholars become tomorrow’s business leaders and entrepreneurs with the support of a strong community and alumni mentoring network. GAMBLE is completely student run and is sponsored by top tier organizations, including, but not limited to, Google, Ernst & Young, Credit Suisse, PwC, Goldman Sachs, and Bank of America.
The Georgetown University Student Investment Fund, organized as a partnership, provides its members with a working knowledge of the stock market through its investment and research activities. Student investors present new investment proposals and review the current portfolio at each meeting. The fund currently has more than $500,000 in assets under management, making it one of the largest student-run investment funds in the country. This forum provides students with a good introduction to the stock market and the investment decision-making process. Membership is open to all students via an application.
The Georgetown Stock Pitch Conference is an annual tournament-style competition in which students from top universities present a stock pitch before a panel of finance professionals. The conference features teams of students from universities across the country; finance professionals from prestigious firms such as Credit Suisse, FBR Capital Markets, and the Motley Fool; and keynote speakers from influential individuals within finance. The conference represents an exciting opportunity for students to test their presentation skills, learn from professionals, and network with others who share a passion for investing and financial markets.
Net Impact is an international nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire, educate, and equip individuals to use the power of business to create a more socially and environmentally sustainable world. We put our business skills to work for good throughout every business sector, demonstrating that it is possible to make an impact that benefits the bottom line, people, and the planet. Net Impact members are leaders in corporate social responsibility, social entrepreneurship, nonprofit management, international development, and environmental sustainability who are actively improving the world.
The McDonough Global Students Association (MGSA) provides a platform of growth and development for international students in the McDonough School of Business, especially in academic, professional, and social matters. MGSA provides students with academic opportunities to cultivate and enhance a global mindset; to explore, improve, and develop professional skills needed for obtaining internships and full-time global employment both within the private and nonprofit sector; and finally, to strengthen relationships between students from different cultures.

The Georgetown Retail and Luxury Association (GRLA) is an undergraduate student-run organization dedicated to establishing connections between Georgetown University students and the retail and luxury industry. GRLA is “for students by students” - the group understands the wants of the student body and aims to provide them with interesting and creative opportunities. GRLA strives to bring influential figures and companies in the industry to campus, both to educate students and to provide internship and job opportunities. GRLA acts as a channel for international exposure to businesses through corporate presentations and recruiting events.
The Georgetown University Real Estate Club (GUREC) connects undergraduate students to all facets of the real estate industry. Members of the organization are able to gain an incredible amount of exposure through property tours, speaking events with professionals, skill building workshops, case competitions, networking events with alumni, and more. Through a partnership with the McDonough School of Business’s Steers Center for Global Real Estate and its director Professor Mathew Cypher, GUREC strives to facilitate learning about the industry and starting a career in real estate for its members.
Innovo Solutions is a student-run nonprofit organization incorporated in the District of Columbia. Our members team up to help nonprofit leaders and social entrepreneurs solve their most urgent challenges. This way, we help them reach their goals so that they can better live out their missions and generate greater social impact. Innovo Solutions also aims to develop social entrepreneurship and a commitment to serving nonprofits in the Georgetown community by fostering interaction among students, social entrepreneurs, and nonprofit leaders. We also train our members in strategy, finance, IT, and marketing through Innovo University so that they can learn new skills to serve our partners and make a difference.
