MBA/Medical Doctor

The Georgetown University School of Medicine and McDonough School of Business offer a full-time, five-year, program that leads to both MD and MBA degrees and is intended for students interested in health care management.

Candidates seeking positions that require strong leadership skills, medical expertise, and a solid business foundation in careers in healthcare administration, healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship, and medical technology should strongly consider augmenting their graduate business studies with an MD from the School of Medicine.

Students must apply and be accepted by both Georgetown McDonough and the School of Medicine prior to enrolling in the School of Medicine.

"The MBA portion of the MD/MBA dual degree program has added an entirely new dimension to my Georgetown experience. It has been a remarkable and intensive experience full of new opportunities and growth. MSB trains one to have an analytical and problem-solving mindset, which coupled with the leadership and teamwork training will be incredibly helpful in bringing solutions to the table in an ever changing healthcare industry. Additionally, the people I have met along the way and the friendships formed have been as valuable as the knowledge learned. Working with world-renowned professors and having classmates from all over the world are two of the greatest strengths of the program. I am confident that much of what I have gained at the business school will aid me in my career as a physician and will certainly enhance opportunities to improve the healthcare system as a physician-leader."  -Mark Matza, MD/MBA, 2014
