The reputation of the school. Georgetown has a certain cachet overseas.
If you talk to people in other countries about some schools, they don't
always recognize them. But they all recognize Georgetown. Daniel Campbell, Alumnus, Class of '97; Investment Manager; Constellation Investments
I
was looking at other schools, but there is no finer reputation than
Georgetown. I couldn't figure out why until I finished the process.
It's not the bricks and mortar-clearly the competitive advantage it
offers is the faculty. They're there not only because they're smart but
because they really love to teach. Georgetown is a teaching
institution, and the faculty love the process-that's clear. Michael McCarthy, Alumnus, Class of '97; Senior Vice President; Carey Winston Company
First
was Georgetown's name and international reputation. Second was the
construction of the program-the emphasis on the international dimension
and international consulting- and the weekend schedule that allowed me
to do both the program and my work at the same time. Amr ElSawy, Class of '98; Director, Strategic Initiatives; The MITRE Corporation
We
are without question among the very best teachers in the country. It is
pervasive-it's hard to describe how much teaching excellence is part of
what we do at Georgetown. The teaching you will get is spectacular. Professor Elaine Romanelli
I
was looking for a group of students who had diverse ideas and
backgrounds-not only the international students but those from the
Fortune 500 companies as well. There were students in my group from
Greece, Argentina, and Switzerland, and that was a real enhancement to
the program. Heidi Biggs, Alumnus, Class of '96; Director, Strategic Planning; Weyerhaeuser Company
For
someone interested in international work, Georgetown has one of the
best reputations around the world for international affairs. It is well
deserved and very strong. Mary-Rose Szoka de Valladares, Class of '98; President, MRS Enterprises
I
looked at other programs and found I was incredibly impressed by
Georgetown. The students and faculty were on a plane above others. And
I loved being on the campus-I have to say that was something of a
consideration. Victoria Rixey, Class of '98; Director of Development, Associate; Bowie Gridley Architects
Georgetown
is a special place to learn, but what makes it special is not just the
faculty and the location-it's really the IEMBA students we attract to
the program. These are very special people with great sets of skills
and interests. They are not only making a difference now in their
organizations, but will clearly make a difference in the future. They
are special, and they are the real reason this program is unique. Professor Robert Bies
