APPLICATION MATERIALS
Completion of Your Admission File

Applications are not reviewed until all required materials are received in the MBA Admissions Office. A complete admission file must contain the documentation listed below. You may use the following as your checklist.

MBA Application (Parts I and II)

The Georgetown MBA Program uses an online application which is submitted in two parts:

Part I
  • Personal / Biographical Data
  • Test Scores (GMAT and, if applicable, TOEFL or IELTS)
  • Current Resume: Your work and educational history should be in reverse chronological order (most recent listed first) and in a format consistent with business resumes.  Include your cumulative GPA for each college / university listed.
  • Non-Refundable $175 Application Fee

NOTE: After submitting Part I, applicants may request an off-campus interview.    During the fall, prospective students planning a visit to campus may schedule an on-campus interview -- even prior to submitting Part I -- as long as they intend to apply this year.

Part II

  • Educational Background
  • Employment History
  • List of Community Contributions, Personal Interests, and Affiliations: List in order of importance all community and professional organizations and extracurricular activities in which you have been involved during or after university studies.  Indicate the nature of the activity or organization, dates of involvement, offices held, and average number of hours spent per month.

  • Official Transcripts: Official transcripts of all academic coursework (including any transfer coursework) must be submitted in sealed envelopes signed by the appropriate university official. Transcripts from institutions at which you studied abroad need not be included provided that the study-abroad courses and grades are reflected on your undergraduate transcript.  Students who have attended or graduated from a foreign college or university must provide an official transcript and degree certificate which shows the date of the degree conferral; if these documents are in a language other than English, please provide a certified translation.
  • Two Letters of Recommendation: Ideally, both letters will be written by someone who can objectively evaluate your professional performance as well as managerial and leadership potential, such as a supervisor or a client.  We strongly discourage letters from university faculty, and in no instance should you submit a letter from a family member.  We encourage your recommenders to submit your letters online, but they may also print out a hard copy and mail it directly to the MBA Admissions Office in a sealed envelope, signed across the seal.
  • Official GMAT Score Reports: You must submit an official copy of a GMAT taken within the past 5 years.  We recommend submitting photocopies of unofficial score reports in case your official reports are delayed.
  • Official TOEFL or IELTS Score Reports (If applicable): International students are required to demonstrate a level of competence in English sufficient to meet the admission requirements of the University. All non-U.S. applicants are required to submit a current TOEFL or IELTS result unless they have obtained a four-year academic degree (bachelor's degree) or advanced degree from an accredited institution of high education in the United States or from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction.  You must submit an official copy of a TOEFL or IELTS taken within the past 2 years.  We recommend submitting photocopies of unofficial score reports in case your official reports are delayed. Please Note:  Joint-degree candidates must meet the higher of the minimum score requirements for each program.

Additional Requirements of Reapplicants

If you applied to the Georgetown MBA Full-Time Program within the last year and would like to reapply, you must submit the following:

  • Letter / E-mail Requesting Re-Activation of Your File
  • New Application Form (Parts I and II) *
  • Updated Resume
  • Essays (Including Reapplicant Essay)
  • One Additional Letter of Recommendation
  • Non-Refundable $175 Application Fee
* Additionally, reapplicants should consider improving test scores and / or adding other pertinent information such as an evaluative interview to strengthen their chances for admission.

Admissions Interview

Interviews are required for admission to the Georgetown MBA Full-Time Program.  The interview policy differs for the fall and spring as well as for on-campus and off-campus appointments.  Review the Georgetown MBA interview policy.

Falsification of Credentials

If application materials (including transcripts and letters of recommendation) are found to be forged, falsified, or altered, the University will notify all relevant officials, including the individual or institution issuing the document(s) and, as appropriate, immigration officers. If an offer of admission has been made, it will be withdrawn.
