Residencies

Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business’ signature residencies enrich MBA Evening Program students’ learning with immersive, team-centered experience in simulated and real world  work. Unique to Georgetown, all students are required to complete four residencies in addition the standard coursework.

Georgetown Means Business Residency

As a primer to their entire Georgetown MBA Evening Program experience, students begin the first year with Georgetown Means Business, a pre-term residency covering the fundamentals of global leadership.

Career Track Residency

During the spring semester of the second year, students begin to delve deeper into their specific focus areas within the Career Track Residency, developing an understanding of how management strategies can be applied to their field.

Leadership Residency

During the fall semester of the third year, students integrate their learning in the Leadership Residency, which challenges them to apply the management strategies they have learned in an immersive business setting.

Global Residency

Finally, during the Spring semester of the third year, students begin work on the Global Residency, which is the capstone of the Georgetown MBA experience. Throughout the semester, student consulting teams work together to solve a pressing business problem for a foreign organization or Fortune 500 company with operations overseas. At the end of the term, student teams travel abroad to their clients' facilities to finalize their project and present recommendations to senior leadership.

In recent years teams have traveled to Brazil, China, the Czech Republic, India, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, and Vietnam and worked for clients ranging from 3M and Philips Electronics to the World Bank and Yahoo!.
