The Robert Emmett McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University cordially invites you to attend Parents' Weekend on our campus during the weekend of October 17-19, 2008. Families of our first and second-year students, the classes of 2011 and 2012, will join families from Georgetown College, the School of Foreign Service, and the School of Nursing and Health Studies in experiencing various aspects of student life.

Information for 2008 Parents' Weekend
This year you will have the opportunity to attend seminars and lectures, allowing you to meet faculty and administrators of the MSB, as well as the rest of the campus community. In addition, you will also have time to visit with your son or daughter and explore the campus and the Washington, DC area.

Parents' Weekend brochures and registration forms were mailed to students' homes in August. It is important that we receive your completed registration form by September 19, 2008. If you did not receive a brochure or if you have any questions about Parents' Weekend, please call the Undergraduate Deans' Office at (202) 687-3851 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

American Airlines has been designated the official airline for Georgetown Parents' Weekend 2008. Book your flights with AA to receive a 5% discount on your fare. When booking online at www.aa.com, refer to authorization number A51H8AU. The discount is valid from October 15-October 21, 2008.

Taxi Fare is approximately $20.00 from Reagan National Airport (a 15 minute ride) and $50 from Dulles Airport (a 40 minute ride). The University is ten minutes by cab from the Rosslyn and Dupont Circle Metro Stations.

Does my hotel reservation automatically register me for Parents' Weekend? No, you will be registered for Parents' Weekend events by returning the completed registration form along with your check.

Where can we pick up our registration packets once we are on campus? Friday, October 17 - 12:00pm-5:00pm, 106 Old North. Saturday, October 18 - 8:00-10:00am, 106 Old North.

Should we expect to receive confirmation or additional infromation regarding Parents' Weekend prior to our visit to Geogetown? No, but if you requrie more information, please call the Undergraduate Deans' Office at 202-687-3851.

What is the dress code for Parents' Weekend? We see many styles of dress ranging from casual to business attire. We recommend that you dress in layers since temperatures in our buildings may vary.
|
|
Where do we park once we arrive? Are parking passes issued? On-campus parking is extremely limited. Guests are encouraged to take Metro and transfer to the free Georgetown University shuttles (GUTS buses) at either Dupont Circle (Red Line) or Rosslyn (Blue and Oragne Lines). GUTS schedules and maps can be found at www.otm.georgetown.edu. You may also take taxis to and from campus, and a taxi stand is located adjacent to the Leavey Conference Center entrance.
