Distinguished Leaders Series Continues

Speakers include Executives from Pandora Internet Radio, Kraft Foods, and Marriott International

Washington, D.C. – The 2009-10 Distinguished Leaders Series at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business continues this fall with lectures by executives from organizations such as Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Pandora Internet Radio, Kraft Foods, Evolution Markets, Jiffy Lube, the American Legacy Foundation, and DC Central Kitchen.

The series annually brings to Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business accomplished business leaders who share their unique experiences with undergraduate and graduate business students. The lectures also are open to the public.

The next events in the series will take place Thursday, Oct. 15, in the Rafik B. Hariri Building. Tim Westergren, founder and chief strategy officer at Pandora Internet Radio, will speak at 5 p.m. in the Lohrfink Auditorium, and Carla Harris, author of Expect to Win – Proven Strategies from a Wall Street Vet and managing director for Morgan Stanley Investment Management, will speak in the Fisher Colloquium at 6:30 p.m.

The remaining events in the series will be held in the Lohrfink Auditorium at 4:30 p.m. They include:

• Wednesday, Nov. 4: Sanjay Khosla, executive vice president and president, international for Kraft Foods;
• Tuesday, Nov. 10: Patrick McCloskey, managing director, Evolution Markets, Inc.;
• Monday, Nov. 16: Stephen Spinelli Jr., president of Philadelphia University and co-founder of Jiffy Lube;
• Wednesday, Nov. 18: Wyatt Andrews, CBS correspondent who will discuss the decline of big media;
• Tuesday, Dec. 1: General Peter Pace (Ret.), former chairman of the joint chiefs of staff;
• Thursday, Dec. 3: Cheryl Healton, CEO of the American Legacy Foundation;
• Monday, Dec. 7: Robert Egger, founder and president of DC Central Kitchen;
• Tuesday, Jan. 26: J. Willard “Bill” Marriott Jr., chairman and CEO of Marriott International, Inc.

Participants in the Distinguished Leaders Series this semester also have included David Allen, author of Getting Things Done and Ready for Anything; John McLain, senior manager at PriceWaterhouseCoopers; Steven Cooper, president of Fortified Holdings Corp. and former CIO for Homeland Security and the American Red Cross; and Jeffrey Hollender, founder and CEO of Seventh Generation.
