Evolution Markets Director Speaks for Distinguished Leaders Series

Series Brings Established, High-Level Business Leaders to Campus

WHAT: Patrick McCloskey, managing director with Evolution Markets Inc., spoke at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business as part of the Distinguished Leaders Series. The event is open to the public.

The Distinguished Leaders Series annually brings to Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business accomplished leaders who share their unique experiences with undergraduate and graduate business students.

BACKGROUND:
As managing director, McCloskey leads the company’s merchant banking subsidiary, Evolution Markets Financial Services LLC. In addition, he is a member of Evolution Markets Inc.’s Management Committee and assists with the strategic direction of the overall business. As the head of Evolution Markets’ merchant bank, McCloskey leads a team of corporate finance professionals providing financial services to companies in the renewable energy, carbon, and green growth industries.

McCloskey joined Evolution in 2007 from Lazard’s private placement group, where he was a managing director responsible for sourcing, structuring, and marketing private financing transactions globally. While working in the London office, he worked to build the firm’s business in Europe.

A citizen of the United Kingdom and the United States, McCloskey joined Lazard from Credit Suisse, where he led that firm’s expansion into the European market. Prior to his move to London, he was helped to build the Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette Private Placement Group in the United States. He also previously spent three years at the Lehman Brothers Private Equity Placement Group, where he was a co-founder. During his investment banking career, McCloskey has participated in more than 70 private financings, for both public and private companies, across a variety of industries and geographic regions including North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, India, Russia, and Australia.

McCloskey is a member of the board of directors of Evolution Markets India Private Limited, the firm’s Indian subsidiary based in New Delhi. In addition, he participates in a number of industry associations and working groups aimed at growing the capacity of the global renewable energy and clean tech sectors. He received a juris doctorate from Fordham University and an undergraduate degree in finance from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
