“I am deeply honored to be named the MillerCoors 2009 Líder of the Year,” Olmos said. “I hope that by receiving this recognition I will inspire future generations to reach for their aspirations and continue to work toward the advancement of the Hispanic community.”

As the Líder of the Year, Olmos will be featured in print advertising recognizing her Achievement and LULAC will receive a $25,000 grant to develop and implement a leadership program in partnership with MillerCoors.

“Lizette’s dedication inspires those around her, and she proves that one person can make a significant difference,” said Joedis Avila, multicultural relations manager for MillerCoors, at a reception to unveil the winner. (Click here to watch a video highlighting Olmos on the MillerCoors Web site.)

Olmos was chosen as Líderes finalist because of her passion and involvement in the Hispanic community fighting key issues as health care, immigration, education, hate crimes, and discrimination.
