December 01, 2003

Georgetown University's Robert Emmett McDonough School of Business has appointed John R. Flato to lead its MBA Career Management office. He starts work today.

Flato has more than 20 years of corporate recruitment experience. As director of campus recruiting for Ernst & Young he led the firm's recruitment efforts in the U.S. and Canada for both the management consulting and audit and tax practices, with responsibility for the recruitment of undergraduate and MBA students and summer interns. Prior to Ernst & Young, Flato held a series of increasingly responsible corporate recruiting positions with CIGNA Corporation and AlliedSignal, now Honeywell Corporation.

"John brings exceptional insight and leadership skills to the Georgetown MBA program at exactly the right time," said Marilyn A. Morgan, Associate Dean and Director of the Georgetown MBA program. "He has the experience, the contacts, and the professional respect required to strengthen and expand the school's relationships with the corporate world."

"I'm delighted and humbled to join such a tremendous team," Flato said. "I look forward to meeting the students and putting the best practices in place that will enable them to conduct job searches that meet their highest aspirations."

Flato holds a M.B.A. in marketing from Loyola College, a M.A. degree in higher education administration from the Catholic University of America, and a B.A. degree in sociology from Washington College.
