Executive MBA Programs Rise in Financial Times Rankings
The Financial Times has listed two Georgetown University McDonough School of Business programs among the world’s best Executive MBA Programs.
In the 2013 ranking, released Oct. 21, the Georgetown-ESADE Global Executive MBA was 15th in the world and 8th among similar joint-programs that hold classes in multiple locations around the world. In the program’s debut in the ranking last year, it placed 19th and 9th, respectively. This year, the program also was ranked 3rd in the world for international course experience; 5th for work experience; and 11th for the salary of students three years after graduation.
Within the same ranking, the school’s Executive MBA was 31st in the world and 5th among stand-alone U.S. programs, up from 35th and 7th last year. The program also ranked 1st in the United States for the percentage an alumnus’ salary increased three years after graduation and 10th for salary; 3rd for international course experience; 4th for meeting the goals of alumni in the aims achieved category; 5th for the percentage of women students; 7th for the internationality of the school’s board; and 8th for career progress.
Financial Times produces the Executive MBA ranking through surveys of alumni and the individual business schools. Programs are evaluated on the following criteria: alumni salary figures and percentage salary increase, alumni career progress and aims achieved as a result of their degree, faculty research, percentage of faculty with doctorates, percentage of international and women faculty members, student work experience, percentage of international and women students, international course experience, percentage of international and women board members, and number of languages students are required to speak upon graduation.
The Georgetown McDonough Executive MBA combines faculty expertise in international business and other disciplines taught at Georgetown with the school’s relationships with prominent Washington, D.C., institutions.
