Jeffrey Franke to Oversee Alumni, Corporate, and Community Relations and Coordinate Development Efforts

Jeffrey Franke has been named the first Associate Dean for External Affairs and Special Advisor to the Dean at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. Franke previously served as the school’s chief of staff to the dean since 2006.

Franke oversees the school’s alumni relations, Board of Advisors, Parents Advisory Council, corporate relations, and community relations. He also coordinates the school’s development activities with the university’s central advancement office, which includes stewardship activities and the newly launched capital campaign. In addition, Franke will retain responsibility for select school-wide initiatives and projects.

“Our goal is to make all of our external partners -- alumni, corporate, and community -- feel engaged with the school and to steward that engagement efficiently and effectively,” Franke said. “A key priority of the school is to build a community of philanthropic support, not only to raise funds for our capital campaign, but to actively involve external constituents in the life of the school through service.”

Prior to Georgetown, Franke worked in the government, private, and non-profit arenas, most recently as an officer with the Pew Charitable Trusts, chief of staff at Investors’ Education Foundation, and managing consultant at Hamilton, Rabinovitz & Alschuler, Inc. He holds a B.A. in History from Stanford University and an MPA from the University of Southern California.
