Georgetown Center for Financial Markets and Policy Welcomes New Advisory Board Members

Georgetown Center for Financial Markets and Policy in the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University has named Catherine R. Kinney, Michael Psaros, and Laurence A. Tosi to its Board of Advisors.
“Georgetown’s Center for Financial Markets and Policy is very fortunate to have the commitment of these leaders. They will help advance the mission of the center to engage leading business people, policymakers, and scholars in discussing critical public policy issues relating to global financial markets,” said Reena Aggarwal, director, Georgetown Center for Financial Markets and Policy.
Catherine R. Kinney (Honorary ’04) retired from NYSE Euronext in 2009 where she was responsible for overseeing the company’s global listing program, marketing, and branding. She was president and co-chief operating officer of the New York Stock Exchange from 2002-2008. Kinney serves on the boards of MetLife, MSCI, Inc., NetSuite, Inc., Catholic Charities, The New York City Ballet, and Sharegift USA. She has served on the Board of Directors of Georgetown University and received an honorary degree from the university.
Michael Psaros is the co-founder and managing partner of KPS Capital Partners LP, and a member of its investment committee. The private equity firm has over $2.7 billion of assets under management focused on constructive investing in restructurings, turnarounds, bankruptcies and other special situations. Previously, Psaros was an investment banker with Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc. A Georgetown McDonough alumnus (BSBA ’89), Psaros currently serves on the Executive Committee of the McDonough School of Business Board of Advisors.
Laurence A. Tosi is senior managing director and CFO at the Blackstone Group. He also serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. Before joining Blackstone in 2008, he was the COO for the Global Markets and Investment Banking Group of Merrill Lynch & Co. Prior to that, he was senior vice president and finance director responsible for Merrill Lynch’s global finance organization, including worldwide accounting, regulatory reporting, budgeting and corporate development. Tosi has three degrees from Georgetown University: BSBA ’90 and MBA/JD ’94, and is a member of the university’s Board of Regents.
