Georgetown's McDonough School to Deliver Custom Executive Program for Global eXchange Services
Washington, D.C. -- March 26, 2003 - Global eXchange Services (GXS) of Gaithersburg, Md. has selected Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business to design and run a custom executive program for its leaders in financial management. GXS selected its participants for their high potential as future leaders.
"We want to provide our future leaders with cutting-edge programs on current and emerging issues in financial management," said Harvey Seegers, GXS President and CEO. "Georgetown's outstanding faculty, innovative custom curriculum and international perspective will help us plan for future growth."
The monthly day-long seminars, which began in on March and continue through December 2004, include modules on accounting concepts and their application in an e-commerce environment, corporate financial decision making, management reporting systems and controls, current corporate governance legislation, and the development and maintenance of competitive advantage in an industry with high rates of technical innovation and network effects. The custom program will also include an experiential learning opportunity, which will build on experience gained in the early modules and cover financial topics of particular relevance to their business.
The program will be directed by McDonough School Associate Professor James J. Angel with the participation of Associate Professors Paul Almeida and Alan P. Mayer-Sommer.
