A Global Experience Leader Awarded International Management Outstanding Educator Distinction
José de la Torre, visiting professor and a leader of Georgetown McDonough’s Global Experience in Lima and Buenos Aires, was awarded the International Management (IM) Division Outstanding Educator of the Year (2013) by the Academy of Management on August 12. He was chosen for his extraordinary contributions to international management education.
In addition to leading a Global Experience every year, de la Torre was the founding dean of Florida International University’s Alvah H. Chapman Graduate School of Business. He also served as founding director of UCLA's Center for International Business Education and Research, and served on the faculty at INSEAD.
He has written on the management of multinational firms, the relationship between corporate strategy and government policy, and on foreign investment in developing countries, and is the author of over 50 books and articles in the field of international business and strategy.
