Blanford To Discuss Leadership, CSR at Sept. 29 Event

Larry Blanford, CEO of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. (GMCR) will speak at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business about his pathway to becoming a CEO, his leadership of GMCR, and how the company has embraced corporate social responsibility as part of the school’s Distinguished Leaders Series. This event is open to the public.

The Distinguished Leaders Series annually brings to Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business accomplished leaders who share their unique experiences with the school’s undergraduate and graduate students.

Larry Blanford serves as Director, President, and CEO of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. . Previously, Blanford was the president and CEO of Royal Group Technologies Ltd. and president and CEO of Philips Consumer Electronics North America. During his time with Philips, Blanford shaped the market introduction for the company’s digital widescreen televisions and advanced DVD technologies. He also founded Strategic Value Consulting, LLC. 

Additionally, Blanford was president of Maytag Appliances, leading innovation for the Maytag and JennAir product lines. He has served in executive roles at several companies, including Johns Manville, PPG Industries, and Procter & Gamble. Blanford completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Cincinnati and received an MBA from the Xavier University in Cincinnati. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
