In February, Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business hosted the 8th Annual McDonough-Hilltop Business Strategy Challenge. The final round of the competition was held on Saturday, February 18, in Lohrfink Auditorium. Twenty undergraduate teams from around the world came to Georgetown to compete, including students from Shantau University in China.
The competition is organized by the Hilltop Consultants, a student group at Georgetown. Established in 2004, Hilltop Consultants organizes student-led consulting projects for nonprofit organizations in the Washington, D.C. area. The competition is unique in that it is the only live nonprofit case competition.
This year, the case competition revolved around Street Sense, the Washington, D.C., newspaper for and about the homeless. Students from Florida State University received first place, with McGill University, Washington University of St. Louis, and University of Michigan winning second, third, and fourth places respectively.
