MBA Soccer Squad Donates Prize to Grassroot Project
In early September, a group of McDonough MBA students earned first place in a 7-on-7 soccer tournament organized by the Grassroot Project, an organization fighting HIV/AIDS in Washington, D.C.
The team, composed of both full-time and evening students, organized by Jorge Lee (MBA), donated the $300 cash prize back to the Grassroot Project. The team also will be featured on ABC’s “Everyday Health Heroes” television program on December 3, 2011, at 11 am.
The Grassroot Project serves to educate at-risk youth in the Washington, D.C., area about HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention by utilizing sports, games, and athlete role models as a vehicle to open up discussion about serious issues.
