MBA Student Wins a “Non-Obvious” Award

Great ideas come about when 80 accomplished leaders from the highest levels of business, finance, diplomacy and government, media, and the arts gather to propose creative and “non-obvious” solution to various challenges facing the world.

In November, Udhedhe Olakpe, an MBA student at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, joined this illustrious group for their dinner and won their “Non-Obvious” award for her submission, “Container City.” Olakpe explored what happens to an old shipping container when it is no longer suitable for shipping. Her idea is to use shipping containers to create modular homes in emerging markets and lower income neighborhoods.
