MBA Student Wins Business Plan Challenge

Becca Brown, a first-year MBA student at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business, won first place at the Walmart Better Living Business Plan Quick Pitch Challenge, which was held during the Net Impact Conference in late October.
After being selected through an online application process, Brown competed against 15 other students. The group was asked to present a 90-second business pitch and answer questions from top Walmart executives. Brown proposed launching a fleet of mobile abattoirs (slaughterhouses) that would service small, local farmers raising livestock and provide product distribution by using online and social media tools to connect with retail and wholesale customers.
