MBA Students Advise Immigrant-Owned Business Project BUILD
Six MBA students from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business wrote business plans for immigrant-owned businesses as a part of a community development effort through a local Project BUILD program. This Small Business Assistance project was sponsored by the D.C. Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (OAIPA). The second-year MBAs who participated in the program include: Manu Agrawal, Yung-Lun-Ho, Szu Po Hsieh, Saurabh Jha, Eunjin Ji, and Rapeepan Kulkanchanachewin. The students involved in the program worked to produce a business plan to help the client increase profit by 15-30 percent with their existing business and offered recommendations for alternative types of business based upon markets research findings and clients’ financials and skill sets.
