McDonough School Case Team Reaches Finals of International Case Competition

For the second consecutive year, Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business undergraduate case team reached the finals of the annual International Business Challenge (IBC), losing narrowly to the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Business team. The invitation-only event, held at the University of Texas at Austin from October 20-24, included teams from 18 universities in North America, Europe, and Asia. Georgetown's team included McDonough School of Business seniors Azita M. Habibi, Rustin M. Brown, Matthew J. Siravo, and Mitchell W. Fox.

This year's competition featured a case study on Inditex, the Spanish parent company of fashion retailer Zara. Student teams were given 60 hours to analyze the technically and financially complex case and present their analysis and recommendations to a panel of judges including executives from Dell, Ford, and Prudential Investments.
